Movie #160 - Hot Fuzz

Title: Hot Fuzz

Director: Edgar Wright

Release Year: 2007

Plot Summary: Jealous colleagues conspire to get a top London cop transferred to a small town and paired with a witless new partner. On the beat, the pair stumble upon a series of suspicious accidents and events.

Thoughts: To quote, this movie was "off the f---ing chains!" Laugh-out-loud hilarious throughout, and it takes quite a bit for a movie to make me smile that much. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost were once again absolutely perfect in their roles, but I have to say I don't think a single person in the film was even remotely miscast. The plot, I'd say, was pretty much a healthy mix of every action/police/big-budget-shoot-up movie ever made - but it also had a bit of a creepy Stepford Wives vibe, which I wasn't expecting but I think worked for the most part. All in all, I was anticipating really good things from this movie, and I was still impressed.

Recommendations: Did you like Shaun of the Dead? You'll love this movie. Did you not really like Shaun of the Dead? You'll probably still love this movie. Do you not possess a funny bone? ... Then maybe you won't love it, I guess.
